GERMANY. Nuremberg, brass jeton, late 16th or early 17th Century, obverse; ICH HAB DIE ANGNEME KVNST DIE MACHT GERECHTI / KEIT VND GVNST / ESAIAS V X CA, a man in Spanish costume, standing, facing, in his right hand he holds up a goblet, on his left a candlestick, from his right wrist hangs a chain and watch, from his left a bag of money, under his feet are scales, reverse; GELT MACHT SCHLECK, two men standing right and left, on a platform, one nearly nude, the other clothed, the latter holds up a book in his left hand, in his right is a cord attached to a bolt in the platform, at their feet a dog is eating (or vomiting?), between them is suspended a pair of scales held by right had issuing from clouds, the right pan, containing a small figure of a man, radiated, and holding up a cross, is outweighed by the other pan, which contains a skull, and has a money-bag hanging from it, PSA X XLI in exergue, 27mm, 4.33g, brass, F, porous surfaces, see Barnard, plate XXXIV, number 103.
